A Message From the Chairman

Budgie visits Old Trafford

Mr Kenneth (Buj) Wretham

This year marks the Centenary of our football club. For those of you who are unaware we were formed in 1906 by the choir boys from the church on Kew Green. Following a nomadic existence, with grounds in Richmond and Sunbury, we finally settled into our new ground in 1997.

Ham Playing Fields now represents a glorious opportunity for our club to grow and flourish as hopefully our brand new clubhouse and changing rooms will be completed after years of painstaking work by the board especially Ken Chivers.

We are determined to celebrate this year in style, with plans for regular training using mobile training lights following a very successful demonstration, brand new celebratory kits for all teams, and training tops provided following payment of membership dues.

This season has been successfully completed mainly due to the hard work of our fixture secretary, Gareth Dineen, who has worked incredibly hard for the benefit of all teams. He has been supported throughout by our marvellous treasurer, Joe Noble, who creatively provides financial assistance.

We on the commitee and the board will endeavour to make improvements to the three playing surfaces our priority once the new clubhouse is up and running . This we feel is essential as it is inevitable that new players will be attracted to the
wonderful new facilities.

We must also strive to uphold the corinthian spirit of both the club and the league. It is important that players realise their responsibilities with regard to discipline on the pitch and to uphold the social nature of the game by both creating a welcoming environment for the opposition but also staying for food and beer when playing away and even talking to the
opponents.

We have a fantastic opportunity staring us in the face . With EVERYONES support and help we can achieve what we all want, a club to be proud of.
